Computer Games

Hi Everyone,

There has been a lot of discussions about students spending a lot of time playing computer games. In this week, I would like you to reflect on this issue. If you spend a lot of time playing computer games, you will have no problem giving your views. However, for those who do not play computer games, you are encouraged to give your opinions too. To help you in writing your reflection, I have listed some questions below:
1. Do you play computer games? If you do, why do you do so? If not, why are you not doing so?
2. What computer game/s do you play?
3. Why are you attracted to the computer game?
4. Do you think many students play computer games? Why do you think they do so?
5. How many hours do you spend playing computer games in one week?
6. Do you think playing computer games will affect your studies? Please explain.
7. Are you aware that people can be addicted to computer games? If so, what are you doing about it?

Blogging competition

Hi everyone,
There will be a school based blogging competition. It is not compulsory. If you are interested in entering the competition, from now till next term week 5, you will have to blog regularly. However, please blog wisely. Be kind and don't offend others. To increase your readership, you may want to add some pictures of yourself, your family, your friends or the places you have been. Olympics

Hi Everyone,
We are in the midst of the Olympics and Singapore has finally got a medal. For this week, I want you to reflect on the Olympics and what it means to you. To help you with your reflection, I have listed some questions below:

National Day Parade

Hi everyone! I thought the parade was going to be cancelled because of the downpour. I was on my way back from the supermarket. When I reached my house, the rain stopped. I realised that the parade continued inspite of the rain. If you were at the parade, would you stay on when it started to rain heavily? I could see fireworks from my house. I think it was not as beautiful as those of the past. What do you think? Anyway, enjoy your weekend. :)

National Day Celebration

I was so glad to see everyone of you in school today. None of you stayed at home. I hope you will have an enjoyable weekend. However, please do not forget to do your homework.

Dear Samantha and Xin Yi,
You had forgotten to hand in yesterday's homework this morning. You had also forgotten to collect today's homework from the pigeon hole. :( How??

Art appreciation

Today you learnt about how to appreciate and compare art pieces better. You may want to continue to do so on your own. Just focus on the following:
1. contrast in lines
2. contrast in colours
3. contrast in size
4. contrast in texture
5. contrast in light
6. contrast in shape

If I am free, I will touch on other aspects. I hope that through such lessons, you will learn to see art using different "eyes". :)

Hi Everyone,
This week, you will reflect on what you have learnt about 'copyright'. In order to help you with your reflection, I have put up some questions:

1. What is 'copyright'?
2. Give some examples of resources that have copyright.
3. Why do you think it is wrong to infringe on the copyright of others?
